The Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has publicly defended his relationship with former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, insisting that he was never an obstacle to the former presidential candidate but rather one of his supporters during critical moments of his political journey. Mbaka made the remarks while responding to criticisms from some of Obi’s supporters during a church programme on Friday.

According to the cleric, he played a significant role behind the scenes when Peter Obi was impeached as Governor of Anambra State, revealing that he took considerable risks and participated in efforts aimed at restoring Obi to office. Mbaka maintained that many of those who currently profess strong support for Obi were nowhere to be found during that difficult period, stressing that his commitment to helping Obi was genuine and unwavering.

The outspoken priest further stated that his actions were driven by his love for his people and his desire to contribute positively to society. He challenged critics to verify his claims from individuals who were directly involved in the events surrounding Obi’s impeachment, emphasizing that he remains “a solution, not a problem.” Mbaka concluded by urging people to avoid judging matters they do not fully understand.
