PDP chieftain Segun Showunmi has dismissed allegations that his wife’s posting within the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was a reward for his support for President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking on Channels Television, Showunmi explained that his wife is a career civil servant who rose through the ranks and was the INEC Administrative Secretary in Lagos during the last election.
He further noted that Peter Obi secured significant votes in Lagos during the election, questioning claims of political interference in his wife’s professional duties. Showunmi maintained that civil servants should not be subjected to suspicion for routine postings within their organisations.
