The Lazeera news identified a tragic incident alleged to have shaken the Catholic community in Minna, Nigeria, as Rev. Fr. Isaac Achi was killed in a brutal attack by bandits at his residential home in Kafin-Koro, Minna State. According to reports, the bandits attacked the priest’s residence, resulting in Fr. Achi being burnt to ashes. His assistant, who was also attacked, sustained gunshot wounds and is currently receiving medical attention at a nearby hospital.

The incident has sparked outrage and concern among the Catholic diocese of Minna and the Kafin-Koro Deanery, with many questioning the government’s ability to ensure security in the region. “Worship centers are under attack every day and government is doing nothing,” a distressed member of the community lamented. The attack has raised fears about the safety of religious leaders and the vulnerability of places of worship.

The Catholic community is mourning the loss of Fr. Achi, who has been described as a devoted servant of God. The diocese has expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased and called for prayers for the repose of his soul.
