Troops of the 1 Division Nigerian Army foiled an armed robbery attempt on the Abuja-Kaduna highway, averting harm to commuters and restoring calm to the area. The incident occurred at about 2:00 p.m. near Nasarawan Doka, following a distress call. The troops mobilised to the scene, engaged the criminals, and neutralised the threat.
One suspect, identified as Kabiru Zayyanu, was arrested after sustaining a gunshot wound to the leg. He was evacuated to Doka General Hospital for treatment. Other members of the gang fled the scene, but no casualties or abductions were recorded during the operation.
The Nigerian Army remains committed to protecting lives and property, urging the public to report suspicious activities promptly. The security situation is calm, with troops maintaining a strong presence on the Abuja-Kaduna highway. The arrested suspect will be handed over to relevant agencies for further investigation.
