Hon. Peter Udogalanya Aniekwe, representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, joined other lawmakers at the ECOWAS Parliament in Abuja to receive Senegalese President and Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, Bassirou Diomaye Faye. The visit focused on strengthening parliamentary engagement, regional dialogue and citizen participation in West Africa.
For Aniekwe, participation at the regional level presents an opportunity to connect broader ECOWAS policies and partnerships with the everyday needs of his constituents. As a federal lawmaker for Anambra East and West, such engagements can provide a platform for discussions around trade, employment, infrastructure, education and other areas capable of creating opportunities for young people, businesses and families across the constituency.
The engagement also reinforces the importance of effective representation beyond the immediate constituency, with regional cooperation capable of opening new pathways for economic growth and people-centred development. The focus, ultimately, is on ensuring that opportunities arising from stronger regional integration translate into meaningful benefits for the people of Anambra East and West Federal Constituency.
