The Deputy Committee Chairman on Labour, Employment and Productivity and also the Member Representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Hon. Peter Aniekwe has called on all tiers of government to place greater priority on the rights, welfare, and overall well-being of Nigerian workers, emphasizing that a productive workforce remains the backbone of national development.
Speaking as an advocate for workers welfare, Aniekwe stressed the urgent need for policies that guarantee fair wages, safe working conditions, and job security across both public and private sectors.
He noted that workers’ contributions to economic growth must be matched with deliberate legislative and administrative actions that protect their dignity and improve their standard of living.
According to him, strengthening labour laws and ensuring strict compliance will not only safeguard workers but also enhance productivity and drive sustainable national progress.
Aniekwe reaffirmed his commitment to advancing reforms that will create more opportunities, promote decent work, and build a stronger, more inclusive economy for all.
