Lazeera News observed that the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has strongly condemned the deadly attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, which resulted in the loss of innocent lives.
In response, the IGP expressed deep sympathy to the Plateau State Government, affected families, and residents, assuring them that the Nigeria Police Force is fully committed to restoring peace and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
In a decisive move, the IGP ordered a massive deployment of police personnel and operational assets to the troubled area. The Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations, DIG Umar Shehu Nadada, has been dispatched to the state to coordinate and assess ongoing security efforts.
Additional tactical units, including the Police Mobile Force and intelligence teams, have also been mobilized in collaboration with other security agencies to strengthen surveillance and prevent further escalation of violence.
The police chief further assured that operations will remain sustained until total normalcy is restored across the affected communities. He has directed all field commanders to intensify visible policing, deepen community engagement, and enhance intelligence gathering, emphasizing that those behind the attack will be tracked down and held accountable under the law.
