The Chairman of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has disclosed that the group will become the world’s largest fertiliser company in 2028.

Dangote said this while speaking at the Imo Economic Summit, organised by the Imo Government, in Owerri, on Thursday.

The business mogul and richest man in Africa said that the time had come for Africans to step into greatness and occupy their place in world business.

He said that the Dangote Group would increase its urea production capacity from the current 3 million tons to 12 million tons by 2028, to enable it to become the world’s top fertiliser producer.

He urged Nigerians and Africans to invest at home, adding that “only a local investor can convince a foreign investor to invest in his home”.

He thanked the President Bola Tinubu-led government for its policies and called for more investments in electric power generation.

Speaking, former President of Mauritius, Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, said that with a high youth population and 30 per cent of the world’s mineral reserves domiciled in Africa, the continent could lay the foundation of hope for the future.
