In an outrageous display of disconnect, Governor Charles Soludo’s handling of the Omor spectacle has left many questioning his sense of leadership, according to Col. Prof. Geoff Onyejegbu. The citizens of Anambra expected humility and empathy from their governor, but instead, they witnessed a display that highlighted Soludo’s deep lack of emotional intelligence.
Col. Prof. Onyejegbu emphasized that a true servant leader knows when to de-escalate tension, listen, and embrace the people with respect. Unfortunately, Soludo’s authoritarian approach fell short of these expectations, projecting the traits of a maximum ruler rather than the humility expected of one who serves.
The incident serves as a reminder that leadership is not only about ideas and policies but also about emotional connection with the people, according to Col. Prof. Onyejegbu.
