The Labour Party Governorship Candidate for the upcoming November 2025 election in Anambra State, Chief Dr. George Moghalu, has officially named Mrs. Ifeoma Veronica Okaro as his running mate, solidifying what many have called a visionary and strategic partnership.
Speaking briefly at the official unveiling in Abuja, Dr. Moghalu described Mrs. Okaro as a woman of unshakable integrity, seasoned educationist, tested leadership, and uncommon devotion to the public good, community and church development. He emphasized that her selection was based on merit, extensive consultation, and her outstanding record in public service, education, and grassroots engagement.
Mrs. Okaro brings over four decades of service to the ticket. She currently serves as President of the Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU) Women Wing, is the immediate past Chairman of the Post Primary Schools Service Commission (PPSSC), and previously held the position of Education Director with the Diocese on the Niger Education Board. Her contribution to education and community development have earned her national recognition, including the prestigious Presidential Award for Best Public Secondary School Administrator in Nigeria.
In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Okaro expressed gratitude and a deep sense of duty, stating that she pledged to mobilize women across the state and ensure an inclusive, people-focused campaign. Her selection has been widely applauded as a signal of the Labour Party’s commitment to gender inclusion, equity, and service-oriented leadership.

Mrs. Okaro was a former Principal special-grade in Dennis Memorial Grammer School (DMGS), Principal of all Principals in Anambra, hail from Ogbunike in Oyi LGA and a devoted Anglican.
