According to a report by Al Jazeera English on Saturday October 3, 2026, G7 nations have agreed to move ahead with the release of oil and diesel reserves following pressure from US President Donald Trump, easing concerns over a possible disruption to global fuel supplies.
Crude oil prices fell after the agreement, which came after Trump demanded that European countries release part of their emergency fuel stocks.
The US president had warned that Washington could impose a ban on diesel exports if European nations refused to take action. The threat raised concerns that a restriction on US fuel supplies could further tighten an already strained global energy market.
