Former Peter Obi spokesperson and lawyer Kenneth Okonkwo has described former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as a leader who brings Nigerians together regardless of their religious or ethnic backgrounds. Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Okonkwo said Atiku’s personal conduct reflects the message of national unity he has consistently preached over the years.
According to Okonkwo, anyone who visits Atiku Abubakar’s residence would find people from different faiths and regions living and working together without any visible distinction. He explained that it would be difficult to identify who is Muslim or Christian, or who is from the North or the South, because everyone is treated with equal respect and given a sense of belonging.
Okonkwo maintained that this inclusive approach is one of Atiku’s defining leadership qualities, especially in a country as diverse as Nigeria. He argued that a leader’s ability to accommodate people across religious, ethnic, and regional lines is essential for promoting national cohesion and strengthening peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
