Ambassador Blessing Fubara Senior has officially declared his intention to contest the Rivers State governorship election under the platform of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC). The elder brother of Governor Siminalayi Fubara made the announcement ahead of the party’s primaries, positioning himself as a capable and prepared candidate committed to transforming the state’s political and economic landscape.
In his declaration, Fubara pledged to serve only one term if elected, emphasizing his focus on delivering impactful leadership rather than prolonged political ambition. He outlined his vision to restore peace, ensure stability, and drive economic development across Rivers State, assuring residents of a people-oriented government that prioritizes progress and unity.
He also called on his estimated two million supporters spread across the 23 local government areas of the state to come out en masse during the primaries. According to him, the movement is aimed at reclaiming the soul of Rivers State and building a better future, urging party faithful and grassroots mobilizers to stand firm at their polling units and wards to make a decisive statement.
