The hopeful Anambra East State House of Assembly lawmaker, Anambra East Constituency, Ifeanyi Duaka, has reiterated his commitment to pursuing sustainable solutions to the long-standing challenges facing communities around the Omambala River.
Speaking during an interaction with supporters and stakeholders, Duaka emphasized the urgent need for legislative intervention aimed at dredging the river to improve economic activities, reduce environmental threats, and support agricultural development in the area.
According to him, the Omambala River remains a major asset capable of boosting farming, transportation, and commerce if properly managed through deliberate government policies and legal frameworks. He noted that beyond political promises, the people deserve practical representation that will attract lasting development and secure the future of local farmers whose livelihoods depend heavily on the river and surrounding lands.
Duaka further called on the people of Anambra East to look beyond temporary political interests and support leaders with clear developmental agendas. He maintained that sustainable river dredging, combined with farmer-focused policies, would strengthen food production, create opportunities for youths, and position Anambra East as a leading agricultural hub in the state.
