Anambra Lawmakers Demand Palliative Measures
Share this:

Senator Dr. Tony Okechukwu Nwoye and Hon. Peter Aniekwe jointly called for urgent Federal Government intervention on the Otuocha-Umueze Anam-Nzam-Ibaji Federal Road. They decried the deplorable state of the project, which had subjected farmers and rural dwellers to untold hardship for years.

Senator Nwoye expressed shock at the road’s condition, stating that something very urgent needed to be done. He said he would inform the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, because the road deserved priority attention to ease the burden on farmers in Anambra West.

Rep. Aniekwe, through his representative Chief Sylvester Nnalue, reaffirmed their joint determination to press for immediate palliative measures. He stressed that their efforts would remain relentless until the Federal Government responded to the plight of their constituents.

The lawmakers insisted that while the bridges were being constructed, the road must also receive urgent palliative attention to restore access to markets and farmlands, the economic lifeline of Anambra West.
