The Federal Government says it plans to expand the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP) to cover 50 million primary school pupils by 2026. According to Dr. Aderemi Adebowale, Programme Manager at the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), the initiative will also cater to out-of-school children in phases.
Adebowale explained that the expansion would include pupils in both lower and upper primary classes, as well as vulnerable groups. He stressed that the school feeding programme remains a key pillar in tackling malnutrition, boosting school enrolment, and reducing child poverty nationwide.
