Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, says the president’s accomplishments in the last two years outweigh what the Peoples Democratic Party achieved between 1999 and 2007. Writing on X on Friday, August 8, 2025, Bwala argued that Tinubu assumed office under tougher economic and security conditions than the PDP met in 1999, yet has made notable progress in governance.

He noted that while the PDP government under Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua benefited from foreign debt forgiveness, Tinubu is repaying such debts while dealing with low oil output. Bwala also pointed out that the return to democracy in 1999 attracted global sympathy and aid, a goodwill advantage Tinubu did not enjoy.

On security, he claimed that Tinubu has significantly degraded insecurity, creating a clear path to ending it. He further commended the president for taking politically risky economic decisions that previous administrations avoided, insisting these measures have set Nigeria on the road to recovery.
