Former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in South Africa, Mr Bola Babarinde, has described the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a political home for “power-hungry veterans.”
Babarinde made a statement available to reporters on Sunday in Lagos.
According to him, The former Vice President Atiku Abubakar-led National Coalition of Political Parties, along with some aggrieved APC leaders, on Tuesday, adopted the ADC as a platform to unseat incumbent President Bola Tinubu in 2027. Thus, Since this announcement was made, a few opposition politicians, especially from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party, and others, have declared their support for ADC.
According to him, this is not a coalition of ideologues but a gathering of political drifters. While contrasting this with Tinubu’s political trajectory, he described the leaders of the coalition as a band of opportunists seeking reinvention under new party labels.
He said that Tinubu had demonstrated remarkable political consistency.
