Rebirth of Anambra: Chief Dr. George Moughalu’s Initiative Sparks Hope
Share this:

As Anambra State approaches its pivotal November 8, 2025 governorship election, a silent but seismic shift is unfolding in the “Light of the Nation” political landscape; long dominated by the traditional powerhouses like APGA, PDP, and APC.

A fresh alternative and wave of political consciousness is rising in the home State of the great Zik of Africa, Cyprian Iwene Tansi, Chinua Achebe, Alex Ekwueme, Nwafor Orizu, Kenneth Dike, et al . At the heart of this movement is Chief Dr. George Moghalu, the Labour Party’s candidate, whose entry into the race have signaled# the rise of a credible alternative to the status quo, one with the capacity to transform the state’s future now a sort of butt jokes in the beer parlours of other States.

A veteran public servant, respected technocrat, and grassroots mobilizer, Chief Dr. Moughalu is not just participating in the election, his entrance in the race has redefined the stakes. Ohamadike as the sobriquet for his name goes, is resonating deeply with Ndi Anambra, particularly the youth, professionals, and everyday citizens and masses disillusioned by years of recycled leadership and unfulfilled promises of APGA led ludicrous government.

In a state where political loyalty has often been traded for patronage, Moughalu stands apart. He brings to the table a distinguished track record from his tenure as Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) to his active role in political reform and civic development. His approach is guided not by political theatrics but by a clear, actionable agenda rooted in competence, credibility, and vision.

His manifesto centres on real issues: economic rejuvenation, educational reform, agro-business investment, technological advancement, infrastructure development, and the inclusion of youth and women in governance, all to be done with all required promptness and vigor. These are not vague ambitions but concrete plans drawn from years of experience and a deep understanding of Anambra’s unique challenges and real issues that affect the grassroot.

Unlike many career politicians whose influence is tethered to agents diametrically opposed to the vision of Anambra founding fathers; Moghalu’s strength lies in the trust he has built across communities and institutions. His rising popularity from students and artisans to traders and intellectuals reflects a yearning for a new kind of leadership: one that listens, delivers, serves and not to be served.

November 8 election is more than a contest of personalities of serial mind-management as put forward by slow-walking and thinking APGA government agents; this election is rather a defining moment which the good people of Anambra are already embracing a fresh political front rooted in accountability, merit, and progress which now revolves round the Moughalu’s candidacy.

In Chief Dr. George Moughalu, Anambra voters see more than a candidate; they see a symbol of possibility, a man who has earned his place in the race through years of service, not noise or putrid deal skirted around incompetence.

With his entry, Dr. George Moughalu has rekindled the hope of a re-imagined Anambra beleaguered by backward governance garnering first position from the last in many indices under Soludo led government.
