Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, representing Ogun Central Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on ICT and Cyber Security, has been recognized for his contributions to digital transformation. He was presented with the ICT Policy and Cyber Security Advocacy Excellence Award at the 2025 Cyber Security Workshop held at Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State.

The workshop, themed “Building A Resilient Cyber Security Ecosystem: Bridging Academia, Industry, and Organisational Practices,” provided a platform for discussions on enhancing cybersecurity frameworks while celebrating individuals who have made significant impacts in the field.

Speaking on the honor, Senator Salisu stated, “This recognition is a reflection of the collective efforts of everyone working tirelessly to advance digital transformation in Ogun State. It underscores the importance of embracing digitalization as a tool for growth, not just for individuals but for organizations and government agencies as well.”

In addition to his recognition, Senator Salisu represented Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun at the event, receiving the Leadership Award of Excellence in Digital Transformation and Cyber Security on the governor’s behalf. He also acknowledged the contributions of Mr. Dayo Abiodun, Special Adviser on ICT to the Governor, and the Ogun State Bureau of Information Technology (BIT) in advancing the state’s digital agenda.

Expressing gratitude to Babcock University for the honour, Senator Salisu reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for policies that promote digital transformation and cybersecurity. “These awards are not just a celebration of past achievements but a motivation to do more,” he added.
