After over 10 years of neglect, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has commissioned Zango-Asibitin Yara Road and Panteka Market access roads in Kaduna South local government area.
A source told our correspondent that the road project has been abandoned for over 10 years before the present administration completed and inaugurated it.
Residents and traders on the road commended Governor Sani for completing the projects after years of neglect by successive administrations.
They spoke after a video documentary released by the Kaduna State government titled “Zango-Asibitin Yara Road: From Negligence to New Road of Opportunity” and “Panteka Access Roads: Connecting Skills, Opening New Possibilities.”
The contracts for the projects were awarded in 2024 by the Kaduna Roads Agency (KADRA). At the flag-off of the projects in 2024, Uba Sani said the construction of the Zango road was part of his administration’s broader efforts to upgrade and expand the road network across the state, particularly in areas that had been neglected for too long.
Expressing their gratitude to Governor Sani and the management of KADRA under the leadership of Engr. Abdullahi Baba-Ahmed, residents and business owners said the projects would ease accessibility and boost economic activities in the areas.
The Chairman of the Zango Cattle Sellers Association said traders were excited about the completion of the road, noting that improved accessibility would facilitate the movement of goods and enhance business activities.
