Senator Dino Melaye, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has said the outcome of the recent Osun election has shown that political mobilisation alone cannot guarantee electoral victory.
Melaye pointed to the presence of the Senate President and several governors in Osun, arguing that despite the high-level political mobilisation, it did not translate into the expected advantage. He maintained that the development should serve as a lesson ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The ADC chieftain further expressed confidence that opposition parties can unite and mount a strong challenge against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that the 2027 contest will be determined by voters and not simply by the strength of political mobilisation.
