The Bauchi State Government has issued a one-week ultimatum to political parties, supporters, and residents to remove all campaign posters, banners, and billboards mounted on streetlights, utility poles, flyovers, and other public infrastructure across the state. The directive, which takes effect from June 4 and expires on June 11, is part of efforts to enforce urban planning regulations and maintain environmental order.

The order was announced following a meeting between relevant government agencies and political party leaders. Authorities stated that the continued use of public infrastructure for political advertisements violates physical planning regulations and undermines ongoing urban renewal initiatives aimed at improving the state’s appearance and public safety.

Government officials warned that enforcement teams would commence the removal and confiscation of all non-compliant campaign materials after the deadline. They further disclosed that mobile courts would be deployed to prosecute violators, urging residents and political stakeholders to support efforts to keep Bauchi clean, orderly, and free from unauthorized structures and advertisements.
