The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reaffirmed its commitment to due process, with its National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, disclosing that the party has verifiable evidence that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) received its official communication. Speaking during an interview on News Night, Ememobong emphasized that the party had taken all necessary steps to notify relevant authorities about its planned political gathering amid ongoing internal disagreements.
He maintained that the PDP acted strictly within the framework of the law, stressing that both INEC and security agencies were duly informed ahead of the event. According to him, the notifications were not only delivered but also acknowledged by the appropriate institutions, reinforcing the party’s position that it has complied fully with regulatory requirements guiding political activities in the country.
Ememobong further argued that the right to peaceful assembly remains a fundamental constitutional guarantee, noting that the PDP would continue to pursue its political objectives through lawful and democratic means. He called on public institutions to remain impartial and uphold democratic principles, ensuring that all political actors are treated fairly and without bias.
