Nwoye–Aniekwe Alliance Signals New Era for Otuocha–Ibaji Road
Share this:

The push for the completion of the Otuocha–Anam–Nzam–Ibaji federal road is steadily gaining traction, driven by the coordinated efforts of Senator Dr. Tony Nwoye and Hon. Peter Aniekwe.

Lazeera news captured that both lawmakers had earlier moved motions at the Senate and the House of Representatives respectively, drawing national attention to the strategic importance of the road and the urgent need for federal intervention. Thus, their legislative actions laid the foundation for what is now evolving into a sustained development agenda for the riverine corridor.

Today, tangible progress is evident on the ground. Construction work is actively ongoing, with the successful completion of the first gigantic bridge marking a major milestone in the project.

This achievement not only signals engineering advancement but also restores hope to communities that have long depended on difficult waterways and seasonal access routes.

During recent onsite visits, both leaders assessed the pace and quality of work, engaging directly with contractors and local stakeholders to ensure that execution aligns with expectations and timelines.

As the project advances, the collaboration between Dr. Nwoye and Hon. Aniekwe reflects a broader vision that extends beyond immediate gains.

Finally, their continued engagement underscores the need to harness ongoing efforts into a structured, long-term development plan that stretches toward 2031. By sustaining political will, oversight, and community inclusion, the Otuocha–Ibaji road project stands as a critical pathway to economic growth, regional integration, and lasting infrastructure transformation.
