India Purchases 60 Million Barrels of Russian Crude
Share this:

India has made a significant move in the global energy market by securing 60 million barrels of crude oil from Russia for April delivery. The deal underscores India’s continued strategy to diversify its energy sources while capitalizing on competitive pricing amid shifting global supply dynamics.

The large-scale purchase highlights the deepening energy ties between both nations, especially as Russia remains a key supplier of discounted crude following ongoing geopolitical tensions and sanctions from Western countries.

For India, one of the world’s fastest-growing energy consumers, the acquisition is seen as a practical step toward ensuring steady fuel supply and stabilizing domestic energy costs.

Lazeera news Analyst say the development could further reshape global oil trade flows, with Asian markets increasingly absorbing Russian crude. As demand patterns evolve, India’s latest purchase not only strengthens its energy security but also signals its growing influence in determining global oil market trends.
