Minister of State for Industry, Senator John Owan Enoh, has challenged the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State to work towards winning all 18 local government areas in the 2027 general elections. He stressed the need for stronger political mobilisation and a more effective grassroots strategy to secure victory across the state.
Enoh’s warning comes against the backdrop of the 2023 presidential election, when the Labour Party’s candidate, Peter Obi, defeated the APC in 10 out of Cross River State’s 18 local government areas. The outcome remains a significant political reference point as parties begin positioning themselves for the next general elections.
As the 2027 elections approach, the minister’s remarks highlight the growing pressure on the Cross River APC leadership to strengthen its political structure, reconnect with voters and address the factors that affected its previous performance. Winning all 18 LGAs, he indicated, must be a major target for the party as it prepares for another electoral contest.
