Senator Elisha Abbo, the Labour Party governorship candidate in Adamawa State, has alleged that he spent 11 months and hundreds of millions of naira building the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state, only to later discover that he was allegedly being used to strengthen the party.
Abbo made the claim during an interview on Arise News on Friday, September 4, 2026, while recounting his political experience and journey across different parties. According to him, he invested his resources, energy and popularity into expanding the ADC’s political structure across Adamawa State.
The former senator alleged that despite his contributions, those within the party had no intention of giving him the governorship ticket. “I spent 11 months spending hundreds of millions of naira building ADC in Adamawa State, I never knew that they were only using me,” Abbo said, expressing his disappointment over how his efforts were allegedly handled.
