BREAKING: 2027 Election is going to be War – Yesufu
Share this:

In a recent interview aired on Symfoni TV on Saturday, June 27, 2026, civil rights advocate Aisha Yesufu called on Nigerians to take an active role in the 2027 general elections, emphasizing that the vote represents a critical juncture for the nation’s future. She urged citizens to safeguard the credibility of the electoral process.

During the interview, Yesufu emphasized the importance of vigilance throughout all stages of the election—before, during, and after voting—stating that the outcome will shape the country’s path forward.

She reiterated a message she has consistently shared: “Let me repeat what I’ve said before—the 2027 election will be war.” Clarifying her statement, she explained it referred not to violence, but to a resolute civic effort to uphold democracy. She encouraged Nigerians to stand firm in their beliefs and ensure every valid vote is counted.

Yesufu stressed that no citizen should remain disengaged, noting that politics inevitably impacts everyone, regardless of individual interest. After casting their votes, she advised people to peacefully track results as they are transmitted from polling units through ward, local government, and state collation centers, to confirm that final declarations match the actual votes cast.

She also emphasized that Nigerians must be ready to legally oppose any attempts to compromise the election, underscoring that democracy flourishes only when citizens actively defend it.

Yesufu encouraged eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) well in advance, urging them not to lose hope or motivation despite existing national difficulties.

Additionally, she dismissed the notion that the 2027 presidential race would lack competition, asserting that opposition figures such as Peter Obi would indeed appear on the ballot.

Calling on key institutions, she asked the judiciary and other democratic bodies to carry out their duties fairly and without bias. She warned that national stability hinges on free, fair elections and adherence to legal principles.

In closing, Yesufu appealed for unity and optimism among Nigerians, stating that the country’s future rests on citizens’ commitment to peaceful participation in democracy and their determination to protect the value of their votes.
