A horrific incident has shaken the Chiranchi community in Kano, Nigeria, where a housewife, Fatima Abubakar, 35, and her six children were brutally murdered in their home. The victims, identified as Maimuna, 17; Aisha, 16; Bashir, 13; Abubakar, 10; Faruk, 7; and Abdulsalam, 1, were killed in a gruesome attack that has left residents reeling.

According to eyewitnesses, the attackers used a sewing machine head to crush the skulls of the children, killing them in cold blood. A neighbour, Malam Bala Abubakar, described the scene as “horrifying”, saying he heard frantic shouts and screams for help, prompting him to rush outside to join other neighbours.

The police have arrested three suspects, including Umar Auwalu, 23, a nephew of the deceased woman, who confessed to leading the attack. Items recovered from the suspects include blood-stained clothes, two mobile phones belonging to the victims, a cutlass, and a club. The community is still in shock over the brutal killings, and investigations are ongoing.
