The Borno State Police Command has announced significant achievements in its fight against crime, with 2,610 suspects arrested and 1,023 convictions secured in 2025. Commissioner of Police Naziru Abdulmajid attributed the successes to sustained crime-prevention patrols, intelligence-led policing, and collaboration with security agencies. The command also recorded notable recoveries, including arms, ammunition, and stolen vehicles.

The police neutralised nine unexploded ordinances and improvised explosive devices, rescued 18 kidnapped victims, and recovered 27 stolen vehicles and 187 mobile phones. A large cache of hard drugs worth ₦5.7 million was also seized, disrupting criminal networks. Abdulmajid emphasized the importance of public trust and cooperation in law enforcement.

Looking ahead to 2026, the command plans to intensify intelligence-led policing, strengthen partnerships with stakeholders, and enhance community engagement. Abdulmajid assured residents of the police’s readiness to adapt to evolving security realities and urged the public to support the police in maintaining law and order.
