South Sudan’s Minister of Finance and Planning, Mial Dongrin Atem, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to institutional reforms and improving public service delivery during his participation in the annual meeting organized by UN agencies and humanitarian partners.
The minister praised the sustained support from the UN and partners in addressing urgent needs, stressing the importance of aligning international aid with national priorities, including development plans and humanitarian response strategies.
He noted that the upcoming budget will allocate additional resources to support donor-funded initiatives, with a focus on diversifying revenue sources to boost economic growth.
High-level representatives from the government and the UN attended the meeting, discussing ways to enhance joint coordination for more efficient humanitarian operations.
