The Bauchi State Government has launched a formal investigation into fertiliser distribution and management, unveiling a five-member committee tasked with uncovering irregularities and ensuring accountability within the sector.

The Secretary to the State Government, Aminu Hammayo, said this during the inauguration of the committee on Wednesday in Bauchi.

The committee’s mandate includes reviewing procurement processes, assessing delivery records, and identifying gaps that may have hindered equitable access for farmers.

Hammayo said the committee would be headed by Farouq Mustapha, Commissioner for Special Duties.

Hammayo said the committee was expected to submit its report within two weeks.
