Wealth Magazine managing executive Harry Chima has urged Malawians to revive local innovation, support homegrown products and rebuild national pride through hard work and patriotism.
Speaking at the Raise the Flag Summit held at Kamuzu Palace today, Chima challenged the nation to stop glorifying foreign goods and instead back local entrepreneurs, revitalise forgotten industries like the now defunct Nzeru Radio and State-run Agriculture Development and Marketing Corporation (Admarc).
The initiative aims to promote patriotism, self-reliance, a strong work ethic and a productive culture among Malawians.
It is expected to roll out 61 community projects nationwide to mark 61 years of independence, including clean-ups and youth volunteer drives.
“A destiny will not arrive through wishful thinking. It needs dreamers who are ready to act,” said Chima.
