Hon. Harrison Gwamnishu, Humanity right activists and founder Behind Bars took to his social media handle to narrate how they recovered the total sum of N1,830,000 from UdoGachi vigilante Security outfit set up by Anambra State Government to fight insecurity.
The victim’s named Mr. Chibuike’s ordeal began when he entered a boutique shop to purchase clothes and was falsely accused by the boutique owner of not paying for all the clothes he bought. The UdoGachi were summoned by the boutique owner, and they made him transfer the sum of N430,000 to the boutique owner before whisking him away to an unknown destination where he was held hostage for several days.
During his detention, they coerced him into transferring funds into a POS account provided by them, resulting in the transfer of N1,400,000. The amount would have been higher if not for the transfer limit.
The case was brought to my attention, and I posted about it, activating our team for recovery and arrest, which have been executed. Our Anambra state team, led by Fidel Chigozie, can be contacted at any time for any cases of rights violations.
Advising Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, Hon. Harrison seek his attention to establish a monitoring unit to oversee the activities of these local Security outfits, as some may be involved in criminal activities within Anambra State.
