The Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has criticized the growing trend of state leaders seeking federal intervention in matters that fall within their responsibilities. Speaking on the recent abduction of schoolchildren, Mbaka argued that governors should take immediate and decisive action rather than shifting the burden to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to him, state governments receive substantial security allocations and possess the necessary structures to address internal security challenges. He questioned why some leaders resort to public appeals instead of deploying available resources to safeguard lives and secure the release of victims. Mbaka stressed that accountability must remain a key part of governance, especially when the safety of citizens is at stake.

While expressing sympathy for the affected families, the cleric offered prayers for the safe return of the abducted children and called for divine intervention against those responsible for the crime. He also urged political leaders at all levels to work together in tackling insecurity, emphasizing that protecting lives should take precedence over politics and blame-shifting.
