As the world commemorates the 2026 International Women’s Day, the Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial Zone, Dr. Tony Nwoye, has joined global leaders in celebrating women and acknowledging their invaluable contributions to families, communities, and national development.
He noted that women remain indispensable pillars of society, whose dedication, resilience, and sacrifices continue to shape the moral foundation and stability of homes across the nation.
The Distinguished Senator emphasized that women play a crucial role in nurturing responsible citizens and strengthening family values.
According to him, women are naturally endowed with wisdom, compassion, and strength needed to guide future generations, while their consistent support and active participation in the democratic process particularly during elections, continue to influence the emergence of credible leadership and the growth of the nation’s democracy.
Reflecting on the 2026 theme, “Give to Gain,” Dr. Nwoye called for greater commitment toward empowering women through equal opportunities, mentorship, education, and access to resources.
Finally, He stressed that when societies intentionally support and uplift women, they unlock greater equality, sustainable development, and shared prosperity, ultimately ensuring a stronger and more progressive future for all.
