ADC Legislators Are United, Charges Supreme Court On Justice

In a recent feature on Arise News, Honourable Uko Nkole, Chairman of the ADC Legislators’ Forum, addressed growing concerns about Nigeria’s political climate and the role of key democratic institutions ahead of crucial court decisions.

Nkole said members of the forum are increasingly worried about what they perceive as mounting pressure on opposition parties, particularly the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He maintained that the party is not facing internal divisions, arguing instead that its challenges stem from external forces seeking to weaken its structure and influence.

Speaking on the judiciary, Nkole stressed the importance of fairness and strict adherence to constitutional principles. He noted that the Supreme Court has a critical responsibility in safeguarding democracy and must remain neutral and free from outside interference.

He stated, “We are law-abiding citizens, and we do not expect the Supreme Court to overlook injustice.”

Nkole also reaffirmed the ADC’s commitment to due process, saying the party will continue to pursue legal avenues in resolving disputes. He added that the ADC has no intention of abandoning its platform and remains confident that justice will prevail.
