The Member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Hon. Peter Aniekwe (Macpee), has called on Muslim faithful to sustain the virtues of Ramadan beyond the holy month, emphasizing the need to uphold compassion, discipline, and unity in daily life. He made the call in a goodwill message congratulating Muslims on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
According to him, Ramadan is a period of deep spiritual reflection, self-restraint, and devotion, which fosters empathy for others and strengthens moral character. He commended the faithful for their commitment to prayer, charity, and righteousness throughout the fasting period, noting that such dedication contributes significantly to promoting peace and harmony in society.
Hon. Aniekwe further urged Nigerians of all faiths to embrace interfaith understanding and mutual respect, stressing that love and tolerance remain essential pillars of national cohesion. He prayed for continued blessings upon the Muslim community and encouraged them to remain steadfast in spreading kindness, generosity, and peaceful coexistence within their communities and beyond.
