In a historic gathering in Enugu, Obi emphasized Nigeria’s abundant potential and condemned the political class’s exploitation, saying “We are not poor; we have been looted into poverty.” He urged unity and genuine change, highlighting the need for honest leadership to drive socio-economic transformation.
The event drew notable leaders, including former Governors Okwesili Nwodo, Achike Udenwa, and Emeka Ihedioha, who joined Obi in calling for a broad coalition under the African Democratic Congress to lead Nigeria’s renewal.
Obi reaffirmed that with unity, Nigeria can transition from consumption to production, tackling insecurity, corruption, and unemployment, and become a prosperous, inclusive nation.
