The Kebbi State Police Command has clarified that the explosion at Bagudo General Hospital on December 30, 2025, was caused by an inferno from overheated air-conditioning and refrigerator gas cylinders. There was no bomb or helicopter involvement, and no casualties were recorded.

Investigations by the police, EOD-CBRN experts, and the CP Tactical Team revealed the cause of the explosion. The police urged the public to disregard unverified reports suggesting a bomb or helicopter.

The Kebbi State Police Command assures residents that measures have been taken to prevent recurrence, and the situation is under control. They’ll provide official updates as needed.
