Olamide, a Nigerian indigenous rapper, has shared his approach to the music industry, emphasizing the importance of identifying one’s audience. In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra, he expressed his comfort with being an indigenous artist and his lack of desperation for international recognition.

According to Olamide, identifying his audience is key, and once he has done so, the rest of the world will eventually catch up. He stressed that he would not compromise his sound or style to appeal to a Western audience, instead choosing to stay true to himself.

Olamide emphasized the importance of authenticity, stating that he is comfortable in his own skin and proud of his heritage. He encouraged others to do the same, saying that staying true to oneself is essential in the music industry. By being authentic and staying true to his roots, Olamide is confident that his music will resonate with his audience.
