Lazeera News has reported a disturbing incident involving the abduction of Laven Jacob, a lawmaker representing Pankshin South Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly. According to sources, Jacob was kidnapped on Monday night at his residence in the Angwan Kaji area of Dong, Jos North Local Government Area.

The abduction reportedly occurred when Jacob returned home and was ambushed by gunmen at the entrance of his house. Two close associates, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed the incident and stated that the kidnappers whisked Jacob away.

The Plateau State Police Command received a report of the incident on September 22, 2025, and promptly mobilized officers to the scene. The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Alfred Alabo, revealed that the police were currently combing the bushes to rescue Jacob. Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Adesina has directed the deployment of tactical teams and divisional officers across the metropolis to ensure Jacob’s safe rescue.

As of the time of the report, no contact had been made between the kidnappers and Jacob’s family. The incident highlights growing insecurity in Plateau State, where kidnappings and violent attacks have become increasingly common. The police are working tirelessly to secure Jacob’s release and bring the perpetrators to justice.
