A 45-year-old electrician tragically lost his life after being electrocuted while attempting to reconnect power cables to an electric pole in the Shasha area of Lagos State. The incident occurred on Saturday, August 10, at about 11:30 a.m.

Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Sunday. He explained that detectives rushed to the scene after the matter was reported. The victim was quickly taken to a nearby hospital but was confirmed dead by the attending doctor.

Hundeyin noted that investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident, as authorities continue to urge residents to exercise caution when dealing with electricity.
