The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, says he was at the Rivers State House of Assembly this morning to present the 2025 budget in compliance with the Supreme Court judgement but met a locked gate.
Addressing Journalists in front of the locked gate of the Assembly Quarters, where the lawmakers hold plenary, Governor Fubara said he made several attempts to reach the Speaker before his arrival but was unable to do so. He said he expects to hear from them as they could be working on a letter. The governor said his recent actions are in the interest of Rivers people.
Governor Fubara was accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, Chief of Staff, and some members of the state executive council. This comes about 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu told some Niger Delta leaders that he advised Governor Fubara on Monday to follow the path of peace in resolving the political crisis in his state.
