President Bola Tinubu has directed the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to immediately reduce the 2026 Hajj fares, citing the improved strength of the naira and the need to ease the burden on pilgrims.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, speaking after a meeting at the Presidential Villa, said the commission has 48 hours to adopt more realistic exchange rates in re-calculating the fares.
