The Federal University of Kashere in Gombe State, Nigeria, is set to confer an honorary Doctor of Science ((link unavailable)) degree, Honoris Causa, on Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
This prestigious award recognizes Kalu’s exceptional leadership, outstanding contributions to national development, and commitment to education.
According to the University VC, Kalu has made significant strides in education. His initiatives include introducing free education programs for primary and secondary school students, renovating over 821 schools, constructing 524 new classrooms, and supplying essential materials. He also prioritized human capital development through scholarships and grants, awarding thousands to students, including international opportunities.
The honorary doctorate ceremony is scheduled to take place on July 5, 2025, at the university’s main campus in Kashere, Gombe State. The university’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Umaru A. Pate, has extended congratulations to Senator Kalu, praising his dedication to public service and leadership excellence.
