Political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections in Taraba State intensified on Wednesday as frontline aspirant, Aboki Stephen Bayonga, formally declared his intention to contest for the governorship under the platform of the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA). Speaking during an exclusive telephone interview, Bayonga expressed strong confidence in the party’s chances, citing its growing structure, grassroots support, and readiness to offer purposeful leadership to the people of the state.
He noted that Taraba residents were increasingly yearning for transparent, inclusive, and result-driven governance, assuring that the DLA is fully prepared to meet those expectations. According to him, his administration, if elected, would prioritize economic growth, infrastructural development, youth empowerment, agriculture, education, and healthcare delivery, while ensuring improved welfare across all communities in the state.
Corroborating his position, the Taraba State Chairman of the party, Aliyuda Yakubu Balutu, reaffirmed the DLA’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and participatory governance. He urged citizens, especially women and youths, to rally behind the party and its eventual candidates, stressing that unity and collective support would be crucial to securing victory in the 2027 elections as political alignments continue to gather momentum across the state.
