JUST IN: My Choice is My Choice” – Seyi Law on his Position
Share this:

Nigerian comedian and public official Lawrence Oluwaseyitan Aletile, widely known as Seyi Law, has spoken openly about his experiences with public criticism, political involvement, and his commitment to national development. During a recent television appearance, the entertainer and Senior Special Assistant on Entertainment and Tourism to the Ondo State Government shared personal reflections on balancing comedy, governance, and public expectations.

The discussion covered a variety of topics, including football, entertainment, politics, and the realities of life in the public eye. Seyi Law explained that years of experience had taught him how to handle online criticism without allowing it to affect his peace of mind. Reflecting on his early career, he said, “At first it was bars, boos, you know, bars for booze, boos for bars,” while describing how public reactions shaped his growth over time.

He further stated that he eventually realized that focusing excessively on anonymous critics would undermine the blessings and opportunities he believes God has given him. According to the comedian, maintaining inner peace and concentrating on meaningful goals became more important than engaging in online negativity.

Speaking about his transition into public service, Seyi Law revealed that his political interest developed from long-standing concerns about Nigeria’s leadership and governance. He referenced the 2012 fuel subsidy protests, explaining that his position at the time was centered on accountability rather than emotional reactions. “What we should say is if you remove subsidy, how are we sure that the money won’t be looted? Would you be accountable?” he asked, highlighting concerns he believes remain relevant today.
