Lazeera News observed a wave of reactions online after a 29-year-old Nigerian woman shared her decision to evict her husband over allegations of infidelity and impregnating another woman.
In her account, she revealed that she had significantly supported their household, investing nearly ₦7 million to establish a building materials business for him, while also funding the construction of their home, which is solely in her name. The couple, who share a young son, had appeared stable before the controversy emerged.
According to her narration, suspicion grew when her husband suddenly became secretive, placing passwords on his phone and social media accounts. The situation escalated after she treated an infection and later discovered claims that her husband had been involved in an unprotected extramarital affair.
The matter came to light when a woman reportedly visited her shop, alleging she was pregnant for her husband and stating that he had presented himself as a single man throughout their relationship.
In a bid to verify the claims, the wife arranged a confrontation involving her husband, the other woman, and her elder brother. During the meeting, evidence including chats was presented, leaving her husband visibly embarrassed and unable to defend himself convincingly.
Following the incident, her brother retrieved the shop keys from him, while she issued a three-day ultimatum for him to vacate their home. Despite his pleas for another chance, she remains resolute, stating that such betrayal has irreparably damaged the trust in their marriage.
